God NEVER wastes a painful experience

A year ago this month, my family and I found out my dad, "Refujio Jose Franco" (everyone calls him Joe) had cancer. It was at a stage 4 according to tests. Immediately I thought, "Why, Why, Why, would such a godly man like MY dad get stricken with this. This can't be happening." You see, I always had this preconceived idea that my dad was going to die of a heart attack. Seriously! Growing up, he'd always tell me and my brothers he was going to die of a heart attack. So, that's what I've been waiting for. Not only that, he told us it would probably be before he turned 65 (since his 2 other brothers and dad died by age 65). I know, it sounds morbid, but my dad would always joke about "kicking the bucket" but "kicking it with Jesus" in heaven too. So you can imagine how his one and only little girl felt when she heard, "dad has cancer."

But then like clear and resounding bell clangs, I was reminded that, "All things work together for our good." That "The steps of a righteous man are ORDERED of God." I started to shout this scriptures, proclaim them, sing them in my car on the way to work, dream them when I was sleeping. Devoting what seemed to be the most to God in prayer, fasting, and reading of His word, I believed that my God NEVER wasted a painful situation or experience. As a matter of fact, He was interceding for my dad during this hard time. (Luke 21:31-32)

My dad was healed of cancer! HA ! Just so you know!
