My girls missed the school bus...

I'm reminded of the movie "Tommy Boy" with the late Chris Farley; running as a chubby little dude to catch up with the bus. If you've seen the movie, you know he disgracefully misses it. The kids IN THE BUS are laughing at him.

Today, August 26th (my husband's birthday), our 3 daughters missed the bus. I'm trying everything within me not to chuckle. It's not the "COOLEST THING" you know. Especially when you're parents are out of town and no one's available (We'll get back to this). So, my girls walked to their school today. A nice 15-20 minute leisure stroll on a gorgeous sunny Anchorage day. Don't worry, they were on time.

Here's the catch...they had someone available. As a matter of fact, that person personally gave her cell # to my oldest and said, "Call me if you need anything." Did my amazing oldest daughter call? No!! She didn't want to be a bother and took measures in her own hands. Braxtyn, Braydee, and Macy-Dayne walked to school.

Isn't that so how we can be with godly influencers, friends, pastors, leaders, and GOD? "I didn't want to be a bother" is what I've heard throughout many years in ministry. Of course, that's after the marriage is in shambles or relationships seem unreconcilable.

"Call me if you need anything" is an invitation Jesus puts out before us each and everyday. The way I see it is this: there's always, always TWO people available willing to listen to your problems. The bartender at the nearby pub or Jesus. One just listens.....the other intervenes.
