"Home Ministry"

Wow...sorry for the time lapse. I've been what one might call..."a little busy." I woke up this morning with my 2 youngest kids in bed with me. I whispered ever so gently and sweetly to them and said, "Girls, I love you so much." And they replied, "I love you too mom." I continued to say, "And because I love you so much I'm going to make some cinnamon rolls this morning." Of course, they were excited. "But, I love you so much I don't think you deserve for me to make this wonderful breakfast with a dirty house, so I'll begin it when the house is clean." You can only imagine their response.

I started to think, isn't that like the Lord and us. I know He loves me so much and only wants to give me the best (Like the cinnoman rolls) . But, why would he give me something so wonderful when there's areas I need to clean in my "spiritual home?" My response can sometimes be like my kids. A little pouty. Resistant to cleaning. BUT they did it! And, are now enjoying a great Saturday breakfast.

When I "clean up" areas of my life.....I can expect God's best for me even more so. He operates very similar as a parent....Well, He is our father.

So today, I'll be doing a lot of MINISTRY. "HOME MINISTRY" that is. I explained that to the girls. How can mom and dad minister to hundreds of people on a weekly basis and not make our HOME MINISTRY the most important. I explained HOME MINISTRY means:

1. Keeping a clean house

2. Doing our devotions together

3. Having meals together

4. Watching a fun movie together

5. Asking how eachother are doing (highs and lows) everyday

6. Praying together

7. Worshipping together
8. Their full cooperation and assistance

The keeping the house clean ministry is an important one to me. I can't function in a dirty home. I told them we'll engage in this ministry together everyday. They're in the MINISTRY! And, that's not because mom and dad are pastors. This is something I want them to realize. Someday they'll have their own HOME and FAMILY ministry and they could be plumbers. (I hope they find a different occupation). But, I think they got the point.
