Woke up this morning at 2am and obviously could not go back to bed. Not sure what's going on...maybe a stirring in my spirit. I watched the movie "Luther" for the 2nd time and it was an amazing moving. What an amazing movie. I highly encourage anyone to watch this. I heard and saw things this time around I didn't catch the first time. I bought the movie as a "stocking stuffer" my Mark. He LOVES that movie. There's a part in the movie when his spiritual father/mentor/priestly father tries to convince Luther to recant his beliefs. Luther says something that I'll never forget. He asks, "When you sent me out to CHANGE THE WORLD, did you expect me not to?" WOW! I believe God has called us all to Change the world...maybe even someone's (JUST ONE PERSON'S) world. I want to step up for that.
I want 2009 to be a year like NO OTHER! I don't want to settle for mediocrity. I'm so tired of that! I have a little over 5 months to influence the lives of over 350 plus students. I have a chance to influence my own kids this year. Braxtyn will be 10 in February. I have so many memories for age 10. SO MUCH TO DO!
Unlike Luther's mentor, God expects us to change the world. He won't tell us to coward down or recant. He longs for us to have so mich fire and passion in our lives. I want to be that person.
